Chocolate Applesauce Cake |

2 c Flour
1 1/2 c Sugar
1 1/2 tsp Soda
1 tsp Salt
2 T Cocoa
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Nutmeg
1/2 c Shortening
2 c Applesauce
2 unbeaten Eggs |

Sift together all dry ingredients. Cream
together the shortening and eggs, add applesauce and beat lightly. Add
dry ingredients and blend thoroughly. Pour into a greased and
floured 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Sprinkle over the batter a topping of 1 c
Nuts, 1 (6 oz) pkg Chocolate Chips and 2 T Sugar. Bake 350 oven for 40
min. |
