Poor Man's Pudding |

1 1/4 c Brown Sugar
3 c Boiling Water
1 T Butter
2 tsp Vanilla |

Let sugar, water and butter come to boil in
a saucepan and boil 3 to 4 minutes. Put in 8 x 8" baking dish and
drop batter over the top. |

BATTER:
1 c Brown Sugar
1 c Raisins
1/2 c sweet Milk
4 tsp Baking Powder
flour - enough to stiffen - about 2 c
1 tsp Vanilla
1 c grated Apple
1 c Walnuts
butter - size of 2 walnuts |

Sift flour with baking powder, add dry
ingredients, then milk. Spoon into boiling sauce.
Bake 35 to 40 minutes. |
